The main passage in the Bible that mentions the "mark of the beast" is Revelation 13:15-18. Other references can be found in Revelation 14:9, 11, 15:2, 16:2, 19:20, and 20:4. This mark acts as a seal for the followers of Antichrist and the false prophet (the spokesperson for the Antichrist). The false prophet (the second beast) is the one who causes people to take this mark. The mark is literally placed in the hand or forehead and is not simply a card someone carries. The recent breakthroughs in medical implant chip and RFID technologies have increased interest in the mark of the beast spoken of in Revelation chapter 13. It is possible that the technology we are seeing today represents the beginning stages of what may eventually be used as the mark of the beast. President Buhari employs blind man as aide 07:47 23/02/2016 Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a visually impaired man as his Special Assistant, Punch has reported. According to a statement released by Buhari's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President has tasked Dr. Samuel Ankeli with the responsibility of dealing with persons living with disability on his behalf. Also read: Group accuses Buhari of planning to make northerner CAN head Shehu added that the newly-elected aide had previously led a team that successfully mobilised more than 24 million disabled people across the country to support the All Progress Congress (APC) during the last election. Man confesses to beheading wife in home 13:18 26/02/2016 Lagos - A UK man has confessed to beheading his wife in their home in Cambridgeshire, UK, last year. According to The Independent, Samantha Ho, 39, a bioscientist was found in her home with her head and body separated. A post-mortem revealed that her cause of death was multiple cuts to the neck. A trial was due to begin this week at Cambridge Crown Court but before the hearing, Allen pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility. Egypt jails eight gay men for three years 10:29 02/11/2014 Cairo - An Egyptian court jailed eight men for three years on Saturday over a video prosecutors claimed was of a gay wedding, which went viral on the Internet. Homosexuality is not specifically banned under Egyptian law, so the men, arrested in September, were charged with "inciting debauchery and offending public morality." The court also sentenced the eight to three years of probation once they have served their terms. The video, filmed aboard a Nile riverboat, shows what prosecutors said was a gay wedding ceremony, with two men in the centre kissing, exchanging rings and cutting a cake with their picture on it. The video went viral on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Teenage boy jailed for 7 years for raping 14-year-old in Ghana 12:45 26/02/2016 Accra - A teenage driver from Breman Brakwa, Ghana has been sentenced to seven years in prison with hard labour for raping a 14-year-old girl. According to the Ghana News Agency , Elijah Amoaning, 18, pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement and was sentenced on his plea. The complainant, the victim's mother, Abena Afauh lived in the same neighbourhood with Amoaning. She said that she found out that he was having sexual relations with her daughter three months ago, and warned him that if he did not desist she would report him. When he did not listen, Afuah reported him to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) where an investigation was opened. During this time, Afuah claimed that Amoaning seduced her daughter again, resulting in her phoning the police, who then arrested him.
